History of the Odessa Fair

The Odessa Fair is one of over 230 active Agricultural Fairs in Ontario. The original Ernestown Agricultural Society was formed in 1835 and was the 3rd such group formed in Ontario. Our present 17 acre grounds were first occupied in 1912. The Palace extension was put up in 2002 with some financial assistance by the Local Lions Club and erected by volunteers.

Our Agricultural Society mandate hasn't changed a lot over the last 184 years. Back when formed, it was to improve agriculture and the rural lifestyle, and our focus is still the same. While changes over time are inevitable to stay relevant to our local community, the most enduring legacy of our societies is still our agricultural fair.
